Love That Good Stuff!

"Oh, it's Stampin' Up!.  That's the good stuff."

Making a creation for school last night, our younger son needed some sparkle.  He asked if I had anything he could put on the skull for his project display.

I handed him Dazzling Details in silver sparkle (#127845). And at $2.50 a bottle, I didn't care if he used the whole thing.
As he used it, he asked me questions about it - will it run? will it take long to dry?  will it stay sparkly the entire time?  I answered all his questions - no.  not long at all; it's actually pretty quick to dry.  it will stay sparkly forever.

And then he said, "Oh, it's Stampin' Up!.  That's the good stuff."

Smart boy.
Hope you have a wonderful and safe Halloween.

Are you looking for some holiday elegance to add to your cards? The combinations of beautiful script and block fonts in the Greetings of the Season stamp set make it the perfect go-to stamp set this, and every holiday.

This great stamp set is not in the Annual Catalog or the Holiday Catalog, you’ll find it online only, or you can always contact me. This is a hidden gem that you won’t want to miss!

Tip: Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place greetings perfectly where you want them.

Easy Spooktacular Halloween Happiness!

What is better than Halloween Happiness?  Maybe . . . . Spooktacular Halloween Happiness!  Or even better Sppktacular Halloween Happiness that is easy!!

I've got that covered.
Using the single stamp, Halloween Happiness, I made this card in just a matter of minutes.

I saw this cute Spooktacular challenge on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge, and wanted to play along.  Sitting down at my craft table, I saw this Tangerine Tango card stock already cut and folded for a card.  And don't you know, right beside me was also some Whisper White scrap pieces - well, the beginnings of the card was there!!

I hadn't broken out this sweet stamp yet, so I figured it was about time to set it free.  I inked it up with Tangerine Tango ink and then overinked with a Basic Black Marker on the words.  I overinked with the Always Artichoke marker on what I figured would be the "green parts", but strangely enough, the green-type color and orange-type color made a brown-type of color (Whoops!).  Leaving my leaves and stems to both look kinda the same color.  Oh, well.

I used a Blender Pen to lift the Tangerine Tango off the stems and applied Early Espresso onto the stems, also using the Blender Pen and ink pad.  Note to self - use the blender pen to get the color off the leaves next time, too!!

Embossing the spider web using an Embossing Impressions Folder and my Big Shot took just a couple of seconds.  The whole thing was adhered with SNAIL adhesive and then Candy Dots in the Neutrals color pallette for an added bit of texture.
I'll send this off to my nieces later today.

Hope you break out something you haven't used for a while or at all today - and have a Spooktacular and Happy Halloween!  Please be sure to check out the other fun creations at Cute Card Thursday.

Step-By-Step Tutorial Frankie Treat

Here it is!  A step-by-step tutorial for making your own cutie patootie Frankie Treat!
It's sooooooo easy.

Let's go -
1.  Cut your 4" x 11" base.  I used Wisteria Wonder card stock.

2.  Score along the 11" side at 1", 5", 6" and 10".

When you fold on the score lines, it will look like this.

3.  Sponge around the "front" of your base (one of the 4"x4" squares to add depth and dimension to your project.

4.  Cut out a "face" for your treat box.  The card stock I used is Pear Pizzazz, and I used the Top Note from Stampin' Up!, along with my Big Shot.

5.  Sponge around the outside of the face to add depth and dimension.  Don't worry about the top-most part.  It will be covered with hair.

6.  Cut a 2" x 4" piece of Basic Black for Frankie's hair.

7.  Cut out uneven hair for your little guy.  Perfection is not our goal here.  Just have fun with it.

8.  Place your face on your treat front - no adhering yet!  This step is to let you see where you need the hair.

9.  Put adhesive on the back middle part of your hair, and lay the hair on the face, making it even with the top of your treat front.  Take the face off your treat front (you can do this because it's not adhered, right?) and trim the hair around your face.  Then trim the top part of the head off so that it will be even with the treat top.  You can do this with scissors or a trimmer, it's up to you!

10.  NOW it's time to put adhesive on the back of your face and lay it on the treat front.

11.  Punch out the beginnings of the eyes.  I used a small oval punch and Tangerine Tango card stock.

12.  Punch the whites of Franie's eyes with 3/4" circle punch.  I used Whisper White for my white.

13.  Punch out 1/2" circles from Basic Black card stock for Frankie's eyes.

14.  Begin to layer the eyes onto Frankie's face.

15.  Using a white gel pen, create some dimension on Franie's eyes.

16.  A crooked little smile with stitches is added with Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.

17.  A bit of green was sponged on for a "nose" (optional).

18.  A bag of candy is punched onto the top back flap of the treat pouch.

19.  Fold it over and then adhere the top flap over it with strong adhesive (I used Sticky Strip).

20.  Now for the "bolts".  Out of Whisper White, I punched a label.  You can use Silver or Gray card stock here if you want.  Any of them looks nice.
21.  Put the label back in the punch and move it until it looks like this.  You will punch out a smaller label to use for another project (if you want).  It's so cute!!
22.  The two pieces look like this.  Now put the larger piece in, turned around and punch another smaller label for another project (didn't know you would get so many cool little things to use for another project, did you?)
So they look like this:  two small labels and one "bone" looking thing.  That's the piece we want!!
23.  Cut it in half and then sponge the edges.

There you go!  Enjoy!!
So easy, huh?

Everyone Loves Frankie

Who is your favorite Halloween character?  Do you even have one?

I think everyone is going to love this papercrafted Frankenstein . . . he's my little Frankie!
I decided to play along with the ColourQ Challenge for colors last evening, and this is my little creation.
Isn't this inspiration photo just adorable?

Well, I don't have the Kiwi Kiss color, so I substituted Pear Pizzazz, which is purty darn close.

It was lots of fun to figure out the bolts for my little Frankie's head/neck area.  I couldn't remember if the bolts are supposed to be in the forehead area or his neck.  Does anyone know?

Anyway, he's my little love for today.  Tomorrow, I have a step-by-step tutorial for makin' the cute guy.
And he's filled with candy goodness, too.
Please be sure to check out all the other fun cards at the ColourQ.

Easy Challenge - Thank Yous

Lots of thanks to get out to helpful people.  I think I probably make more thank-you cards than anything else!  What about you?  What do you make the most?

Here's a quick and easy thank you I made last night to send out 20 of them and also enter in the
CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.
Isn't it a nice, clean sketch?  Think of all the fun you can
      have with this cutie . . . .
Using the Betsy's Blossoms (#131955 - wood; #126006 - clear), the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (#132022 - wood; #126257 - clear) and the Bitty Banners Framelits (#129267)made this card come together in no time at all.
The card stocks are So Saffron (#105118), Very Vanilla (#101650) and the Always Artichoke (#105119).

And then the inks are simply the Cherry Cobbler (#126966) and Always Artichoke (#126972). There was just a tiny bit of fussy cutting the Always Artichoke banner to frame the Very Vanilla banner; otherwise, I don't think I've made an easier card in weeks!

Thanks, CAS(E) this Sketch, for a great springboard today.  You rock!!  Check out the other goodies there!!
