To You From Me - As You See It Challenge

What do you call breakfast for supper?
My mom used to call it a "Lupper" for "Light Supper".  Ha!

Our younger son and his girlfriend have been into cooking together
lately and wanted to make some homemade pancakes for their supper
(or Lupper - if you will).
Meanwhile, I had some fun creating this cute
And there's a little something inside.  Do you see it peeking out?
The purples and green on this card are created
with white card stock and sponged ink color

I've been wanting to make a card with my
ever since I got them last week.  Guess it was finally time to drag them out!
Can you see the shine?

Weird Animals VBS - Sea Street

I agreed to make 20 of these great cards as thank-yous
for our Vacation Bible School's coordinator.  She did a great job,
and I wanted to help make her life easier, so I volunteered
to create these cuties for her to use.
She really liked them.
20 is quite a few.
But I did it!  Yay!!
I used the watercolor background wash technique that I first posted here.

Shaker Card - AAA Card Challenges

Shaken, not stirred . . . been playing with Shaker
Cards all week and had a blast coming up with fun combinations.
One of my favs was a shaker card using Washi Tape.
Shaker cards are a really hot trend right now.
We've got a great challenge over at AAA Cards Challenge right now.
Can't wait to see what you make to "shake things up"!

Feel Goods - Summer Theme

Is there someone who brings sunshine into your life?
Then they deserve this card.
I wanted to have a summery card, and immediately this
idea came to mind.
It's very simple, pretty clean, and I love it.
Especially the uncomplicated-ness of it - after a crazy
and complicated day.
I'm entering the card into the As You See It Challenge where
it's a "Summer" theme week.  Not much I love more than summer,
so I had to join in.

What I used:
Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, and Stampin' Sponges (#101610), Subtles Candy Dots
Hope your summer is full of sunshine-y days!

Work of Art Watermelon

It's sweet, sweet summertime.  What are some things that cause you to
think of summer?  One of them is watermelon for me.

I saw this 'dorable card online and had to CASE.  I have no idea where
I got the idea (let me know if you do), but I kept it in my head to create this little cutie.
I adapted  it a bit to use what I thought would look good.
this yummy watermelon slice was about as easy as can be!
I punched out the "seeds" with the Owl Builder punch from Basic Black card stock
I glittered them up with the Dazzling Details after putting them
on the card with Glue Dots. The only other adhesive used was SNAIL.
The sentiment is from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.
So quick and easy - gotta make more than one!!
The finishing touches of this super simple card were Wild Wasabi and Basic Black card stock to "frame" this summer masterpiece.
I'm off to give this to a wonderful friend who could use a pick-me-up.
Hope she likes it!

Inspired - AAA Cards

I've got a Dozen Thoughts running through my head
because I've been inspired by AAA Cards this week!

One of those thoughts is that you had Better Get Better - can you tell?
Lots of guys need get well cards, too.  And since I know a
few fellows who are recouping, I made a couple cards
for them super quick with this fantastic CASE from AAA Cards Challenge.

Here's my inspiration from the wonderful Angela Maine:

Love the inspiration - just had to make it "manly" -
or at least "manlier" - Ha!

Lots of texture in there, too with the embossed dots.
I used the brayer to ink up an embossing folder and then ran
it through my Big Shot.  It's a very touchable card.  Guys like that.

Hope you have a great day - thanks so much for stopping by.
And get a CASE card posted over at the AAA Cards, ok?
Can't wait to see what you've got.

Sassy Salutations - Keep It Simple

Why do we tend to complicate things?
Is it just how we people tend to be?

Well, I got back to basics with this easy, peasy card . . .
The new 18-year-old in our household needed to send
some thank-you cards out since he had so many
generous well-wishers help him celebrate.

He wanted simple.  He wanted guy colors.
He wanted something that was to-the-point.
He got it.
He got lots of it.
No excuses here, son.

Tape It - Another Thank You!

So many thanks - so little time!!  LOL.

Using the Tape It stamp set and Another Thank You
I've got a thank-you card for my sister.  She got us fabulous
seats for the Cleveland Indians' ballgame on the 4th of July.
We had such a blast as a family . . . rode a private van/bus up together
and then our seats came with all we wanted to eat and great views.
We took up two entire rows and just changed seats around the entire
game so we could talk to each other.  I think I sat in seven
different seats!

I'm entering this in a new-to-me challenge,
the As You See It Challenge, which seems to be a
purely sketch-driven challenge, and also the ColourQ challenge.
AYSIChallenge044
We did have a bit of an accident on our way to the ball game.
We were on the exit to get off to downtown, and another van decided
(seemingly without looking) to get into our lane.  My brother-in-law,
our quick-thinking driver, was able to keep the incident to a minimum.
Our vehicle was so large, their van had the most damage!  A flat almost
immediately because part of our vehicle's body was in their tire's sidewall.

The saddest part of all was that they were headed to the Indians'
game also - to celebrate their son turning 18 (with three of his friends
with them).  Unknown to them, the game was completely sold out,
and they had no tickets!  The good news - no one was hurt.

Watercoloring Fun - AAA Cards

Are you ready to get inky?  It's time to play with a bit of watercoloring
fun at the AAA Card Challenge this week!
I got inky, too!!  When I was done and looked at my fingers - whoo -
lots of ink all over them.  I'm not really sure how that
happened, either.  Oh, well!  Who's worried?  Not me!!
Gettin' inky is the name of the game.  It's time to "Play".
Anyway, I did a background watercolor wash for my octopus!
I only used ink with an Aqua Painter and painted the color right on the
paper over the octopus who was stamped with StazOn Black ink.
Don't you think he's so cute?
The "thank you" sentiment from the Lots of Thanks stamp set
has bubbles coming up from it
- after all, it's under water, right?  Ha!

I'm creating the thank-you cards for our
Vacation Bible School event, which is "Weird Animals" this year.  So much fun!!

This card is nice and CAS.  I made an earlier
one that I liked, but wasn't as clean or simple . . .
So you can see that I did the background wash
with this cute card, but there is a lot going on with the little fishes,
crab, and multiple layers in several spots.  I felt like the card could be CASier (is that a word?)
Well, enjoy playing, friends!  Cannot wait to see what
you come up with - I love, love, love visiting the blogs and seeing
all your yummy creations!!  All of you are so very talented.
I love to read your comments, too!

Thanks ever so much for stopping by ~~ Happy Stampin' and Scrappin'!

Happy 4th of July!

Here in the US, we celebrate Independence Day
on the 4th of July . . . and that's today!
I taught this fun card that truly only takes 10 minutes to make
on Sunday to a group of friends.  (Love how stamping
makes some great friends, don't you?)
If you would like PDF instructions for this card, just let me know.

I also sent one of these cards to my Chemo Angel.
Hope she likes it and it makes her smile.

Hope you have a great day!  We're off to a Cleveland Indian's
baseball game with fireworks in Cleveland afterwards
- the weather is a bit cool (only 73 degrees F),
so I'm sure by this evening, I'll need a sweater.
What I used:
Other Goodies - Itty Bitty Accents Punch Set (#133787), Dazzling Details (#124117), Post-It Notes

By the way - the prize I'm giving away
for the AAA Cards Blog Hop (drum roll, please) is . . .
There's still time to participate!  To see my post, click here.
