It's a Mixed Bunch

Yes . . . it's a mixed bunch!  Normally, you would say that, "It's a mixed bag", type of thing, but this is definately (sp?) a mixed bunch card!
Love the pop of color - and it's fun to see when all I've been doing lately are Christmas cards and the like.
You should try this sweet card featuring purple and pink, along with two popular floral stamp sets, each with coordinating punches.  Just love that!

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch, Flower Shop & Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Strawberry Slush & Craft Whisper White
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Strawberry Slush & Whisper White
Accessories:  Basic Rhinestone Jewels

Other:  Blossom Punch, Pansy Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch

Whew - Christmas Cards!

Whew!  We got them out in the mail!!  Yay!  And it's not Christmas yet!  This has to be a record!

LOL.  Since I make cards for a living, you would think I have this down pat, but - no!  Every year, I have problems getting the cards I want out on time.

We did okay this year, though.  So happy . . . .
This is how I began to do this card - took a while, though.  It's a cool technique that I saw on the Stamping and Blogging website.  Love that website.  Lots of fabulous tips.  I recommend it; you have to pay to get the tips, etc.  Worth the price in my opinion, but you'll have to see what you think.
I used a variety of stamps on this and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
I made it easier on myself by simplifying to this style.  Same colors, using a sponge still.  Used the lightest ink color in the middle and worked my way out with darker and then darkest on the outside.
I just love this card.  I tried to use every Christmas stamp I have in one way or another on my cards this year.  This is so stinking cute!  And I decided to use up that embellishment.  After all, that's why it was purchased - to be used!
The paper is so pretty.  Used the Best of Snow stamp set.
Used the Gold Foil on this one.  I wanted to have a more religious card, too.  Used the Best of Christmas stamp set.
I soon ran out of the foil and then used the Champagne Glimmer paper.  Very glitzy.
Another great idea from the Stamping and Blogging website.  Love that place.  Just great ideas that I can just take and run with it.  This is using the Everything Eleanor stamp set, that I never would have thought "Christmas", but it works extraordinarily well here, don't you think?
Lots of sparkly Embossing Powder, too, using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Such a pretty card.

Hope you enjoyed!

Crafty Holiday Helper - #4

Holiday Helper Series
Project 4: Envelope Punch Board Scrapbook

Project 4: Envelope Punch Board Scrapbook

Have you ever arrived at December 26 or January 2 and wondered to yourself how it could be over so quickly?

Sometimes, in the rush of holiday season, we forget to stop and take a moment here and there.

Well, what better way to keep track of your holiday memories than by tucking them away in an album as they actually happen?  Making an envelope album is the perfect way to capture all of your memories while you are in the midst of the holiday preparations and events — ticket stubs, recipes, cards, pictures — can all be tucked away in the album. And then, when the holidays are over, you can go back and relive them all while putting the finishing touches and details into your album.

You’ll treasure it from year to year, and they’re so simple to put together that you can make a new one when the holidays come around again.

Ways to Say Thinking of You

How do you say to someone, "I've been thinking of you"?  I think one of the best ways is to send them a card.  They can read it over and over again, keep it and maybe even put it in a scrapbook - the choice is their's!

I have a need for a few "Thinking of You" cards, so I got some inspiration from the RetroSketches Challenge first.

It's a great sketch with lots of possibilities.  Right away, I knew I wanted my card to say "cheery", so I chose the Very Vanilla, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise card stocks.
The Sassy Salutations (#126707) and Happy Day (#130294) stamp sets were natural choices for this great
layout.
And now I've got a couple sweet cards to send out tomorrow.  So glad I could play along with the RetroSketches Challenge!
What I used:
Stamp sets - Sassy Salutations (#126707) and Happy Day (#130294)
Ink - Real Red (#126949), Tempting Turquoise (#126952)
Punches - 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, 2-1/2" Circle and 1-3/4" Circle
Card Stock - Very Vanilla (#101650), Real Red (#102482) and Tempting Turquoise (#102067)
Linen Thread (#104199)
Designer Very Vintage Buttons (#129327)
Jewels Basic Rhinestone - Large (#129324)
Dimensionals (#104430) and SNAIL adhesive
