Christmas Cards Galore!

Like everyone's - the last two weeks have been
crazy busy for me!  Between full-time work and teaching
card classes three nights out of the seven both weeks,
I've been more than a little busy!!
A Cherry Cobbler and Silver Glimmer Paper Card
Love it, though, and wouldn't trade the time
I get to spend with my gal pal-crafting friends for anything.
Love this bear card using the White Christmas and Holiday Home sets
Just a few of the cards I've been sending out myself here . . .
My favorite winter birthday card so far ~
I managed to make and send out 176 holiday-Christmas
cards this year!  It's a new record for me.

Hope you have a wonderful day - thanks so much for

Everything Eleanor Sympathy

One of my favorite people died this week - my 88-year-old Uncle Jim.
So my hubby and I went to the visiting hours this evening.  We got there
just as the visitation time began and at that point the line
was already out the door
of the funeral home.  Yep, he was that kind of a guy.
 I'm obviously not
the only person who was crazy about him.
I tried to visit/communicate with him with some regularity.
He had a beautiful farm, and I went out to visit him and
showed pictures of some of this gorgeous gardens in this post.

I helped him take his first selfie this summer during one of my visits:
So the reason I have green in his sympathy card for my
cousins is because of his mad gardening skills.  The flourish
is on the card because he was one elegant dude.  He was a
successful interior designer who just loved a touch of elegance
in everything he did.

Another inspiration for the card is from the Freshly Made Sketches
challenge with their fabulous sketch this week:
Give an extra hug or two to those you love today!

Easy Does It - Santa Stache

Getting into the Holiday Card season in an easy
way with this fun sketch and go-to stamp set, Santa Stache.
I found this sketch at the As You See It Challenge:
AYSIChallenge064
And since I'd been trying to figure out a good way to
use this stamp set, everything just clicked!

Some of the other goodies I used:
Stamp set - Good Greetings, A Fitting Occasion
Card Stock - Naturals Ivory, Brushed Gold, Chocolate Chip, and Trim The Tree Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink - Memento, and Gold Encore
Stampin' Blendabilities in Cherry Cobbler and Skin Tone Assortment
Dazzling Details, and Stampin' Chalk Marker
Champagne Glimmer Paper, Star Framelits, Oval Framelits, Paper Snips (scissors) and Stampin' Sponges

Whew!  Sounds like a lot of supplies -
I'll tell you though ~ this card came together in a snap!

Tip - when coloring with alcohol markers,
use a piece of wax paper under your art piece.
It will keep the ink from getting onto your work surface
and prevent damage to your work surface.

Awesome Projects & Creating Star-Shaped Boxes

These were the projects we created at Stamper's Club.
So cute!  They were an absolute blast to make -
and everyone had a great time together,
laughing and teasing one another.  Good times.
So today while looking through YouTube, I found a way
to make the star box open.  It's a great video - thought I'd share.

Thankful For . . . AAA Cards

This week at AAA Card Challenge, we are observing THANKS-giving!
It's a great time, too, since this fun Thanks or Thanksgiving card challenge
will still be going strong from now and the next two weeks which will be
over the American Thanksgiving holiday
 of November 27.
Here's my CAS take on the Thanksgiving - or giving thanks - theme
Thanksgiving isn't just a US thing, though.  Several other countries
around the world observe similar celebrations - dates for 2014:
Canada - October 13;
Liberia - November 6
Norfolk Island - November 26; and
the US - November 27.

Looking forward to seeing your Thank-You
and/or Thanksgiving cards during this
challenge - Thanks so much for stopping by~~

Thank You to Veterans - Happy Veteran's Day

We owe our Veterans so much Gratitude.

According to Wikipedia:

Veteran's Day is an official US holiday that honors
people who have served in the US Armed Forces, also
known as veterans. It's a federal holiday - so banks, post offices,
and all federal buildings are closed - like courthouses, and the
Patent and Trademark Office (which is the one that really affects me at work).
This holiday is observed on November 11. It coincides with other
holidays such as Armitice Dayand Remembrance Day, which are
celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of
the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally
ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918,
when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States
also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the
current Veteran's Day holiday in 1954.
Veteran's Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day; Veterans Day
celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while
Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women
who died while serving.

Hope you have a wonderful Veteran's Day!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Halloween Happiness - AAA Cards

When is Trick-or-Treating in your neighborhood?
Do they even do that where you live?
Ours was last night.

And speaking of Halloween, we're looking
forward to fun Halloween
cards this week at AAA Cards:
I kept my card very CAS (Clean and Simple) this week
with a bit of the Emboss Resist Technique.

That's the name of the game this week at AAA Card - CAS Halloween!
Only about 20 or so kids came to our porch where our younger
son sat with his girlfriend and handed out candy,
as well as little toy mice, skeletons, bugs, spiders,
stuff like that for those who wanted something different
or can't have the candy due to allergies.

Hope your Halloween goes well ~ looking forward to seeing your
CAS creations linked up to AAA Cards this week!
