It's A Banner Day

A Banner Day - that's what I've had!
How about you?
I managed to get to the Humane Society
and drop off an entire deep cartload of donation
goodies for the place.
Great to finally have the back
of my car unloaded.
I also got to create this great
birthday card for the Paper Players Challenge.
What an interesting idea of playing "Tic Tac Toe"
with a challenge.
Choose three across, down or whatever
way you want, and then use that to make your card.
Wow.  I just love that!!
Yep!  It was a banner day all right!
In fact, I used two layers of banners
on this card that were punched out with
the banner punch from the Sale-A-Bration catalog,
and the Banner Blast Sale-A-Bration stamp set (#133551).

The Gorgeous Grunge was used
to muss up the card just a little bit.
I used Calypso Coral Baker's Twine (#125573), too.
And it's a birthday card,
using the Sassy Salutations stamp set (#126707).
So -- what three across do you think I used?
And inside, I used the Best of Birthdays stamp set that's only available through today, March 31.  It's been fun having the "Best of" stamp sets to celebrate Stampin' Up! being around for 25 years!  That's a long time!

The colors for the card stock and inks are:
Calypso Coral, Soft Sky,
Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Gray.

4 Easy Steps to a Great Card

Making a great card is so easy.
In fact, it's as easy as
four (4) simple steps like on this card:
overstamp using the large flower detail
2.  Stamp the base leaf set in Pear Pizzazz ink (#131180) and overstamp with the leaf detail

Tip:  make the overstamp image a darker ink.
3.  Using a die cutting machine,
cut an image out of the center of a
piece of card stock the same size as the card.
This will be your mask.
Lay the mask over the card and
over your stamped images to where you want it to be.  Sponge Sahara Sand ink (#126976)
into the negative area created
by the cut-out area of your mask.
stamp the "thanks" sentiment from the
on a few of the cards.

So easy, it's crazy!
And it's a Clean and Simple card to boot!!
Bonus for you!!
The CASe Challenge was used as a
fabulous layout for this sweet card.
It's a fun layout that will yield oodles of ideas for cards,
I'm sure!  I inked up these 10 cards in only 20 minutes - seriously!
Give this layout a try, and let me know what you create.

Good as Gold

What's your favorite time of year?
One of mine is Sale-A-Bration!
And this Good as Gold card kit from
Stampin' Up! is one of the reasons I love it so.
Everything I need to make eight purty cards is right there.
I just add adhesive.  So cute and quick.
And the envelopes have a gold and shiny
envelope liner with them.  A luxury touch.
This is absolutely free with a $50 order.
I've used all mine up.
How will you send yours out?

Tip - you can make some other pretty cool things with these besides cards.  Just let your imagination take you away . . .

Love Having a Cute Purse

Don't you just love having a cute purse?
Isn't it fun when people comment
on your purse and ask where you got it?

Well, I made an entirely
different kind of paper purse
for a hostess of a party
this weekend . . . and she LOVED it!  Yay!!
This handy purse is about as cute
as can be and super easy to make.
I put in four little cards as a thank-you
to my wonderful new friend.
We've got a bit of Washi Tape and Gold Foil
to make it look "fancy".

If you'd like to make a cute purse card holder of your own,
e-mail me to PDF the fabulous instructions to you.
(Thanks to CraftyPerson.com -

Six Everyday Occasions Cards

Are you tired after running after the kids all day?
Maybe you work full-time and just want to
relax when you get home.
An easy way to keep your creative "vibe" happening
when you just can't muster the energy is the Everyday Occasions card kit (#134797).  I love this thing!
For instance . . .
Yesterday, after working a full-time crazy
busy day, making dinner, cleaning up,
and all that good stuff moms do, I wanted to make a few
cards to send out today.
Can you relate?
I had some thank yous and
two birthday cards to get out.
I just didn't know if I could do it.
Ta-Da!!  The Everyday Occasions Card Kit to my rescue!
And everything you need is included - even the acrylic block for the stamps.  Can you say, "awesome"?
I can - and I do,
every time I reach for this wonderful box
of crafty goodness.
My box is almost empty - and that makes me sad.
Guess I need to replenish!

Card Holder - Envelope Punch Board

Well - I finished up a bunch of gorgeous cards
with a cute little card holder that anyone
would love to get!
It was super easy and used the
Envelope Punch Board.
I used the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series paper
for the outside the the card holder.
A few punches and stamp sets to decorate
the outside of the box - and there you go!
Here's the template for free to create the box.
Anyone would LOVE to get this as a present,
don't you think?

St. Patrick's Day Card

Soon it will be St. Patrick's Day -
and I've got a card all ready to go!!
I CASEd this card from my friend and
upline Laura Milligan.  She has such great creations.
Teeny Tiny Wishes was the stamp set I used for the sentiment.
Lots of great gold accents and fun
embellishments on this cute card.
Hope you have a great day and stop by again soon.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, my friends!!

Gold Foil Etcetera, etcetera

I've been working with gold since St. Patrick's Day
will be here soon and playing with the
Etcetera Suite from Stampin' Up!, too!!
The gold foil was stamped with the StazOn Black ink
(it leaves such a crisp image), and then cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

Love the background stamp full of French words.
I have no idea what it may say
since I've never taken French,
but it sure looks pretty!
The gold foil looks like it's metal, doesn't it?
From these pictures, it's hard to tell it's card stock.
So easy to work with that stuff.
The Very Vintage wheel on the bottom was a
fun touch, as well as the crochet ribbon.
The card stock colors are Very Vanilla,
Pool Party and Night of Navy.
The ink used - besides the StazOn Black
is Night of Navy for the whole card.
My Stamper's Club ladies really liked this card.
It came together so easily.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Embossing Sale-A-Bration

You make me happy . . . when skies are gray . . . you'll never know, dear . . . how much I love you . . .

Were you singing along?
I know I was singing when I typed it!  Hard not to.  LOL
Well, the cards I made the other evening all had "gold" elements in common.  And here, the Gold Foil card stock was embossed to had a great accent in a fun way.
A quick and easy card with a bit of layering in springy colors.
Enjoy your day!

Chocolate Trifle - Thoughts of You

Mmmmm . . . I got up early this morning and
assembled this great chocolate trifle for a work event.
We're busy trying to raise money for the
Harvest for Hunger.
So what does our office do?  We eat.
Crazy as it sounds, that's how our office rolls!
Last night, I was creating cards like an insane person.
It was just one card after another.
I created this simple card based on a
sketch challenge I saw at CAS(E) this Sketch!
So sweet!  I ended it with a bit of Smooch Spritz!
The Open Sea Stamp set in Early Espresso ink
was just what I needed with some
Very Vanilla, Night of Navy and Soft Suede card stocks.
Love it!
Maybe you can play along with the sketch, too!

Rainbow Gorgeous Grunge Just Because

Love that Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I was in the mood for a rainbow today, too.
And then I made these cards . . . Just Because!  I think the other stamp set I used was the Delightful Dozen, but I could be mistaken.
I began with the Crisp Cantelope ink in a full strength,
and then the Crsip Cantelope ink stamped off once so the color was less intense.
After that, the color was Pink Pirouette, followed with Pear Pizzazz.
The final part of the rainbow Gorgeous Grunge is Coastal Cabana.
 This whole card began because
I wanted to use the Calypso Coral card stock
in my drawer.  I've hardly ever used it
and decided to take it out for a little spin.
Soft Suede card stock seemed like
a natural complement,
along with the Very Vanilla card stock.
I even inked up the inside of the card with
some Coastal Cabana.  The Linen Thread tied it all up!
And the card was so quick and easy,
I made eight (8) of 'em to send out.
They all went out in the mail or were handed to friends on Friday.  I don't have a single one left after making them on Thursday evening!  Yay!
