Quick, Quick -- I Need A Hand-Stamped Card

How quickly can you count to three? 1 . . . 2 . . . 3!

That's all it took for me to do this card, too. Okay . . . okay . . . it took about five minutes, not five seconds.

Looks so nice though. Just a quick swipe with the wheel; next, a stamp; and then a spritz - and voila! All done. A great shimmery card.

Stamping Happiness

Have you created Happiness for anyone lately?
My husband asked me to make some thank-you cards for him to use. This created some happiness for him. These are the cards. I did the envelopes, too.
He said he liked them so much that he didn't want to send them to anyone. He can, though. I made eight of 'em. Plenty there to keep one if he wants and still send a bunch out.

It's the right thing to do.

Hand-Stamped Invitation

Here's the invitation for the Shower that my sister and I made. Isn't it cute? and inside was the recipe card that we stamped, along with all the party info that people need. We used the Domestic Goddess DSP -- really enjoying that paper! I just like the name, too. What a hoot it is . . . Domestic Goddess . . . ha!

Stamping Thank You Notes for My Nephew

Over the weekend, I hosted a Shower for my nephew. It was a couples shower, and men were invited to the shower as well as women. My wonderful nephew is getting married this spring, and he's the first one of the next generation to take this mighty step.
My sister and I made all the invitations to the shower (I'll show you those tomorrow), and I offered to make matching thank-you notes for the couple, too. Of course, I've made the envelopes look matchy-matchy in addition.
The entire theme of the event was about food, recipes, kitchen stuff -- things that a guy can appreciate as well as any gal. Everyone was asked to bring a recipe card filled out with a recipe that their family loved or was their go-to meal. When people arrived, they made a scrapbook page with their picture (we took a picture of them as soon as they arrived and printed it up on the spot), recipe card, a yum scale and other decorations as they wanted.

Don't bother to count these thank yous! I'll tell you that there are 25 of them, all ready for my nephew and his sweetie to send out.

A Spring In My Stamping

I was feeling "spring" again, so I went back to the Mixed Bunch stamp set again with the Blossom punch for another go-around. I love how this stamp set is versatile, along with the punch. I've gotten so many different cards out there -- yippee!

Cheerful Cards - Joy of Spring

This is another project that I made to showcase the versatile Mixed Bunch stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Punch. I did a technique of folded flowers and made leaves, along with some great heat embossing. Some of my friends just LOVE the heat embossing, and they're very good at it!

A close-up of another card using the Whisper White Craft Ink and the Iridescent Ice emobssing powder. I never thought up that combination before, but CraftyPerson used it and it works wonderfully.

Card Making - Variation on a Theme

Variations are nice. Here's an example of one for you. It's the same idea, but a different color scheme than yesterday's card.


This is a great card for so many occasions. I like the simplified look of the card. Yesterday's was very springy, today's is a little more formal.

Thinking About Spring Flowers . . . on Cards

Higlighting: Mixed Bunch stamp set (#125535 wood-mount, #125537 clear-mount) & Blossom Punch (#125603)

Did you know that stamp sets with coordinating punches are favorites of people everywhere? They are! Why? Because coordinating stamps and punches make creating terrific looking projects that are fast and simple.

One of my favorite coordinating sets from the Occasions Mini is the Mixed Bunch stamp set. Beyond the obvious, you can use this floral set to create window cards, flower stencils, folded flowers, and butterfly and dragonfly punch art, just to name a few!

Tip: When you're using the punch, place it upside down on a solid flat surface when punching for ease and accuracy every time. It's great for those with arthritis. Like so many of Stampin’ Up’s punches, this punch is a great multi-tasker.

Wonderful Card - Stamping Fun

Isn't it wonderful?
When my sister was dating her husband (a super long time ago), she would write letters home. She used to say that he was wonderful, school was wonderful, the weather was wonderful. My mom used to say that her letters were so full of wonderful . . .

I guess you get the picture.

How about this card? Isn't it wonderful?
It's even labeled "wonderful", just in case you didn't realize it was wonderful. Okay, okay. Enough with the wonderful stuff already!! Ha, ha!

Here's a different shot with the decorated envelope -
The label shape was traced on Very Vanilla card stock using the On Board Merry Medley chipboard. Then the label shape was cut out and adhered to the chipboard. We also used the Tea Stain ink spot and a Stamping Sponge to distress the edges of the label.

It's a First . . . Video time - Easy Matchbook Valentine Treat

It's Tool Time . . . a Card for the Guys

This is a card made for a man, for sure. In fact, we made this card at the last Stamper's Club that we had. I encouraged everyone to make two of the cards . . . one to give away and the other one to keep as a template for making them again.

One of the members of the Stamper's Club told me later that very soon after Stamper's Club, she had to use both the cards -- two men she knew had birthdays one after the other! She was glad to have the two cards -- and both the guys really liked them a lot.


I was checking out Jackie Topa's blog about a month ago and came across this create tutorial that she had available called "It's Raining Men". Everyone really enjoyed this card, and it's great because it gives you a whole new way to use the Brayer, Big Shot and Embossing Folders.

It's In the Collection

So you collect anything? So - even when you were little . . . did you have a collection of anything? Maybe it was rocks, maybe it was dolls. Did you have one?

As an adult, I collect old typewriters. Yep, that's right. I collect old typewriters and give them a home. It all started with the typewriter my grandpa used when he was in college. I found it in his attic, and he told me I could have it.

When I saw this stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog, I knew right away that it was going in my collection of stamp sets. I made about 20 cards with it and really like it. I think it can be used for birthdays, just thinking of you, get wells, thanks, on and on, on and on.

Regionals in San Antonio - Make and Take 2

Here is the other card we made at the Regionals in San Antonio. We used the Send Me Soaring stamp set in a whole different way. As a matter of fact, those flower petals were made using the kite from the Send Me Soaring stamp set and then punching them with the small heart punch.
We did the petal on the stem in a similar way -- the kite was stamped and then the petal was created by using the circle punch twice (on one side and then the other side).

You Send Me Soaring

Here is one of my favorite things we made during the Regionals held in San Antonio, Texas during January. This card is so cute because you can move the circle around and make different colors of kites show up! See, we start with green . . .
. . . and then we go to the Pool Party Blue . . .
. . . and finally end it with the Calypso Coral.

They gave us a template for doing the holes in the card back and the circle. I'm looking forward to making this card with my customers and clubs. Everyone is going to have so much fun with this one!!

Today's my birthday! Happy birthday to me . . . well, I'm singing yo myself, but I'm excited about it. After all, it's only once a year, and it's a day that's all yours for celebrating.

What am I going to do to celebrate? Well, I'm gonna stamp with some of my favorite friends, that's what! Am I lucky or what? We've got the last weekend of Sweet Treat Valentine classes this weekend. I'm a busy birthday gal!

Leadership Make and Takes - Part 3 I think . . .

I'm not the best with the My Digital Studio (MDS). Did you check out what Stampin' Up! made for each of us at Leadership? This page was created with the MDS, printed out, and put into each of our Make and Take packages. So pretty . . . and a great poem, too! This is one of those "take it to heart" sayings that is out there.
The Baja Breeze paper was cut to look like a pennant with the pointed ends and then distressed with the Tea Stain and a sponge. I have the distressing essentials, but hadn't touched them since the purchase -- my bad! Since Leadership, I've gotten them out and enjoyed using them. They really make it look like something has been vintaged, aged, and around for a while! After using the Tea Stain, I used my nails and some Paper Snips to really distress the edges. I'll be trimming this to 8 x 10 to fit inside a frame.

Happiness Card - Again, there was that tea stain thingy . . . Stampin' Up! likes the vintage look and we were prompted to use the distressing tea stain on this card. As you can see, I was getting the hang of making things look all stained up at this point!

I made sure I distressed the edges of the paper and really enjoyed making this quick and easy card. We were given supplies to make three of them and then the option of putting them inside a Mason jar to create a "Jar O' Cards". Cute idea. I managed to do the one card and called it good.

The funny thing is . . . whenever I give someone a card where I've distressed the top of the paper to fold over just the tiniest bit, I always end up watching as they attempt to straighten it out. I'm thinking, "No, no. It's supposed to be like that!" Ha! Has that ever happened to you?

Leadership Make and Takes - Part 2

This card is actually supposed to go with the pointed part of the pennant down toward the table instead of to the right side like I have it on this card. I had not been too hot on this Blossom Punch until I was making all these fantastic card and the scrapbook page further down on this post. I'm so glad we received these two stamp sets for Leadership, though. They are beautiful and very versatile. I can see getting lots of use out of them!!
I have the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper already and I really like it, too. I've used it for several projects already and actually hardly have any more left!! I see another order of it in my future!

These flowers and accessories are so beautiful and useful. They make quick work of projects and add so much punch and pizzazz. Love that library clip, too! A really fun page - just waiting for a picture.
