Feelin' Better With a Little Change

Ever get tired of the same old-same old?  I know I do.  Changing things up every now and again is good.

That's why I decided to try a new fold on my card this week.

It's a gatefold card.  You fold the card so it opens up like a gate.  That's a change.  And that's cool.
The colors on this card are great for a friend I have who just had a stroke.  She's gonna love it.  The colors are soft and muted, and just right for her.  I'm sure it's going to help her feel better.
It was hard to get this card to shut for the pics!  I had to put a post-it note inside on the top and bottom to keep it shut long enough for a picture (LOL).  Silly card.

This is a card I did for the ColourQ challenge for this week.
What I used:
Sassy Salutations and Daydream Medallions stamp sets; Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, and Basic Black card stocks; Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray and Basic Black classic inks; Neutrals brads; SNAIL adhesive, and Stampin' Dimensionals.

First I cut the card stock 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and then scored the 8-1/2 side at 2-1/8 on one side, turned the paper 180 degrees and scored it again at 2-1/8.  Those sides fold in to make the "gate" now.  Then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped it with the Daydream Medallions using the Pink Pirouette ink and then went to the Melon Mambo ink.  Every time I used the Melon Mambo, I would stamp it twice to create a darker image and then a lighter image with the Melon Mambo ink.  After that, I went to the Basic Gray ink with the smallest image in the Daydream Medallions stamp set.

I framed the stamped Whisper White with Melon Mambo and Basic Black card stocks and put it on the Pink Pirouette base.  The "Fee Better" was stamped in Basic Black on a square of Whisper White that I framed with five layers of card stock around it.

I love doing lots of layers.  It give an ordinary card real "pop"!  I got this idea from Robin Merriman.  She's a great stamper for using layers.
