Immediately, I thought, "No, but I'm ready for some cards!"
Well, you can sure tell where my brain is . . . stamping, stamping, stamping, and more stamping!!!
Here's a great card to share with you using the Love & Sympathy stamp set.
This card was given to me by Lynn Fones, and she's a fellow demonstrator that I met. She used a technique on this card called the Wax Paper Resist Technique.
- To do the Wax Paper Technique you:Take a piece of wax paper that is slightly larger than your glossy card stock. Run it through the Big Shot using an Embossing Folder.
- Using two pieces of Glossy Card Stock, sandwich the wax paper between the two pieces of Glossy Card Stock. Iron over the paper "sandwich" using a high heat with your iron, but no steam. This will actually give you two pieces of card stock to make cards. One will be a positive image, and the other will be a negative image of your embossing folder.
- Take your pieces apart and discard the wax paper. Apply ink to your glossy card stock using a sponge, daubers, or a brayer -- you can even use a blending tool if you want . . . the choice is yours and depends on the look you want.
It's as easy as 1-2-3!
what Lynn used:
Stamp set - Love & Sympathy; Paper - Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Glossy White; Inek - Midnight Muse and Bashful Blue; Accessories - wax paper, Extra Large Oval Punch, Midnight Muse 3/8" stitched satin Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Brayer, Big Shot, Oval Accent Bigs Clear Die, Craft Scissors, SNAIL adhesive.
Can you see the pattern of the embossing folder here?

Julia, what paper is on the two tone and where did it come from? beautiful card. Hugs, Bev
ReplyDeleteThe two-tone paper was done by using the brayer and covering the Glossy Card Stock with the Bashful Blue Classic Ink. After that, the image was ironed on with the wax paper using the Wax Paper Technique that was described above. Then the Midnight Muse was brayered onto the Glossy Card Stock. Great look, isn't it?
DeleteThanks for the comment, Bev. Let me know if you give this technique a try. You'll love the look.
