Happy Memorial Day.
As a break from stamping (is there such a thing?) -- I just want to take a moment to honor those men and women who have died while serving our country and allowing us our freedoms.
As taken from the Packers Chatter website, some history on the date:
Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday of May, commemorates the
men and women who died while serving in the American military.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following
the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many
Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials,
holding family gatherings and participating in parades.
least, it marks the beginning of summer.
Hope you have enjoyed your holiday ~~ thanks for stopping by. Happy Stampin' and Scrappin'!
