Ring Around the . . . Ribbon?

Today I wanted to create a ribbon wreath -- well, to be honest, I've wanted to create a ribbon wreath ever since I saw the wreath that Diana Gibbs created back in November on her blog. Her wreath is absolutely beautiful, and she used Stampin' Up!'s fabric as well as ribbon.

Using the Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric (#121817) and coordinating 1/2" seam binding ribbon of Pear Pizzazz (#122330) and Baja Breeze (#122331), this wonderful wreath was born!!! The wreath frame was only about $1 from a big box craft store that shall remain nameless.

I hope you like it. It was fun to make. We're making this at our next church women's group gathering at the annual "Make It & Take It" later this month. The fabric was cut into 4"x 1/2" sections and then single knotted on the frame. The ribbon was also cut into 4" sections. It took about 1-1/2 hours to make the whole thing.

Oh, yes. I almost forgot -- the lovely Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim (#118480) was also used on this wreath to add textural interest.

Tip: Cutting the fabric into 1/2" sections makes this project easier on your fingers -- it's easier to knot. I will cut the fabric into 4-1/2" sections next time though. I think that if it's longer, it will be easier for the ladies of our church to knot.

I love all the coordinating products that SU! has. They sure make my life easier.

Thanks so very much for stopping by ~~ hope your Sunday has been blessed. Happy Stampin' and Scrappin'!

  2. Julia, this is beautiful. The colors are so pretty. Looks like the hardest part was cutting out all that fabric and ribbon. TFS.
